Snow Plan Still in Effect
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office continues its snow plan for Wednesday. This means that officers will be responding only to incidents where there is an injury. If anyone is involved in a wreck and is not injured, they are asked to exchange information and give that to their insurance company. Officers responded to 9 wrecks on Tuesday with injury. They also assisted Knox County School Security by responding to stranded school buses. Preliminary reports indicate that they responded to 6-8 stranded buses and coordinated with parents where to take the students. Officers also took the principal and several students from Holston Middle School to their homes.
Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones urges everyone to stay home if possible. Response time to secondary roads in remote parts of the county could be slow, so if you must leave home, you are encouraged to take an emergency kit, such as blankets, snacks, and water.
