Update on Gambling Raid

Thursday, 02 June 2011

The investigation into a gambling operation in East Knox County continues.  Officers confiscated approximately $42,000 Wednesday night.  They also confiscated four weapons from four patrons who had permits.  Despite having the permits, the people were in an illegal gambling establishment.  It will now be up to the state to determine if their permits will be revoked.  Eight gaming tables were seized and will be destroyed.  Officers will not say how long the gambling club located at 7311 Asheville Highway had been in operation but say that it was becoming well-known.
