Knox County Schools Career and Technical Education Department to Host the First Annual CTE Goes Child Public Safety Day August 20, 2011

Knox County Schools Career and Technical Education Department (CTE) will partner with Knoxville Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Knoxville Fire Department, Rural Metro, FBI, and the Young-Williams Animal Shelter on Saturday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at John Tarleton Park.

The Child Public Safety Day will feature exhibits and demonstrations from all uniform agencies across the county.

The first 1,500 kids with an adult will receive a free fingerprinting and DNA swab kit. The first 200 kids at the epilepsy booth will receive a free bike helmet.

The public will have a chance to adopt a pet for $25.00 off an adult dog. Rabies shots will be available. The public will also be able to chip their pet for only $10.00.

Admission is free.

The CTE Child Public Safety Day is sponsored by Knoxville Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Knoxville Fire Department, Rural Metro, FBI, Young-Williams Animal Shelter, Staples, Smitty’s Surgical Specialties, and Falcon Radio WKCS-FM 91.1.
